GOD IS GREAT AND GREATLY TO BE PRAISED!

you guys! i am going to LIMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i KNEW it was supposed to be there and i knew it was up to God and he showed me how good and merciful he can be; again.

my future site is Sahara de Bataan, Limon!

i will be visiting there at the end of next week and i will be moving there about 21 mayo.

I have a pager now, and i thik you can send me pages electronically! how FUN is that!?!? i have to fiugre out how and i will tell you soon. But the number is country code 506 and 225-2500 or 224-2400 you ask to leave a message for (HOY-YA) green and you might have to wait a little extra long to talk to an English-speaking operator...but they have em, and then you tell her the message, she types it in and sends it to me.

I´m sorry i don´t have much meat to this entry today, just facts. I will be taking into account the council of my dear sisiter who said everyone might be better served by a more straightfoward accounting of my experiences....so i´ll work on it.

Oh yeah also sister...if i had some kind of external storage system (a key, kangaroo, flash drive) i can compse thoughtful entries ahead of time and just upload them when i get the internet access. so tell mom if you read this before nina comes.

As you can tell i´m very excited about being sent to Limon, so thank you thank you thank you for your prayers they were answered and He´s already, always, all right.

i love you

i love you world, and its hard to love everybody and not just one. its hard to try and say i'm loving people who need love in Costa Rica. when i'm really not feeling the love in what i'm learning about volunteer development work . i mean i guess i gotta bring the love, and i'm being a little self-involved with my heart self lately... but anyway, we learn about where our sites will be for the two years of service on FRIDAY. the BIIIIG fateful day. I'm still holding out a thread of hope that i get Limon. I've got one more interview with the placement director this week. When i first spoke with her she said it was not likely i'd get Limon..but we shall seeeeeeeeeee.

I VISITED Limon for two weekends in a row! I came back from my Holy Week vacation majorly cooled out, i was so chill and sooo low key and as i started interacting with my training team i felt myself get more and more tense again. Maybe it'll be easier to manage my emotional health when i have daaaays of tranquilidad. the tranquila (peace) spirit is supposed to be contagious. It also wasn't cool that we looked at medical pictures of some horrific Sexually Transmitted Infections and talked about colors and textures of discharge, all right before lunch. I think its a scare tactic because the statistics say that 90% of single volunteers are sexually active by their 20th month in country and that only 30% use condoms everytime....its a sad stat...for tru. I think the number includes sexual activity with visitors, the medical officer kept mentioning that sex with Canadians and other gringos counts...lol so whatever we are duly warned...jez

So, I'm on my way to spend MORE money that i don't have at this PHAT vegetarian restaurant called "Vishnu" I guess i do have about $50 American dollars that i will probably definitely spend before I get out of training. so 50 dollars tymes 500 colones on the dollar = ummmm..... wheres the computer calculator..... that gives me 25000 colones...that about covers the vacation i just took in Puerto Viejo this weekend...ok so if dinner tonight is around 5000 I'm still in the clear. But after this i have GOT to stick to the budget that i layed out the other week..otherwise i wont have the bus fare to get to training activities! THAT'll be a laugh.

But yeah one beautiful thing on the horizon is that my couzin Nina may be brigning me some much needed supplies by flying inot the Costa Rica airport and returnign the sam day, just to bring me the stuff!!! I would love that! and i think its pretty close to workign out. As weel! I could get my guitar down here and have a heart hobby and a TEACHER! because my companero David may be able to get his gutiar becausee his gutitar and his brother are in Atlanta, and his brother may be able to get the guitar to Nina who would get the guitars and my other stuff here to me in one day! Talk about beating the shipping costs!! hahahahahaha!

Ok so we're headed to dinner with Kathy whos site i hope to inherit to eat veggie food and talk all about Limon!!!..and other stuff.

Hi everybody

Hi everybody,

sorry if you got scared by my last blog entry. i took out the scarey parts now. I´m just in love with this guy and I don´t know how to manage it here. But God will work it all out, because love can never be wrong, and so i keep loving and living, living and loving.
I´ll be more conscious of my live audience as well!...

ok so in Peace Corps news, i am visiting a current volunteer in B-Line, Limon. YES the name of the city is in English, because there is a lot of patua spoken here in Limon. This is the area of the country with a large concentration of black people. The historic reason for this may be that Black people were not allowed to leave Limon until after the 1948 Civil War. That has been the last major civic disturbance since. The plight of black people has really been the same throughout the west and our brothers in the homeland suffer differently, but still.
I am halfway through my training program. and we get to know what my two year site placement will be in about 3 weeks. Keep your fingers crossed because Limon is where i want to be and work!

I love you all and i am happy and healthy although very very deep in thought and experience and introspection.

I love you! bye, Ma!

Heeey everybooody!

Yeah, so. I'm super excited because my mom is looking out to see if she can come to Costa Rica-- and bring me muchos cosas that i left behind. I threw a little emotional tantrum today,-(in blog writing) but i didn't publish it, because by the time i finished, i wasn't ready to cause damage. I'm about creation and not destruction, and creation is love but some of loves children are freedom AND responsibility (i struggle to balance these two daily--
